Working together to ensure a sustainable future for Knysna.
Support UsA community-driven initiative addressing infrastructure challenges in Knysna.
The KIG is a community-driven initiative formed by dedicated residents to address infrastructure challenges in Knysna through municipal collaboration. Founded in December 2023, the group started with George Rex Drive pothole repairs, then expanded to water infrastructure and sewage issue resolution.
We focus on water, wastewater, electrical, and road infrastructure maintenance. In September 2024, KIG partnered with Regional Wastewater (RWW) to restore the Knysna Wastewater Treatment Plant, funding ten engineering resources and employing a full-time on-site engineer.
We are an a-political, practical, problem-solving team — not superheroes in capes, but everyday people making a tangible difference. KIG is a registered NPO (Non-Profit Company) with a separate, audited bank account.
We are committed to full transparency in all our operations. As a registered NPO with a separate, audited bank account, we maintain open lines of communication and publicly disclose project costs and partnership details.
We believe that transparency fosters a stronger, more united community. All our financial records are available for public viewing on our Financial Statements page.
